Join us September 21st, 22nd, and 23rd for our Cool Autumn Swing Workshop!
We’re pulling out all the stops for this great weekend of dancing & FUN!
Get ready to dance your socks off this fall! We're excited to announce the next Lindy in the Loops workshop, featuring Read Fenton from Edmonton! Our scene leaders Justin Mufford and Bonnie Cleland will join them to share lots of fun moves, musicality, and Lindy knowledge for everyone. Enjoy learning Lindy Hop and getting to know the Kamloops swing dance community, all to fantastic swing jazz music.
This video will give you a glimpse of one of our visiting instructors and just how much fun he likes to have when dancing:
There will be two tantalizing tracks at this workshop. The beginner-friendly track will focus on fundamentals with lots of opportunities to embrace the silly side of the dance. If you are a newer dancer or you'd like to strengthen your basics, this track is made for you! The intermediate track will include lessons to help with technique, styling, variations, and expression, still with plenty of chances to focus on fun and bringing your own flavour to the dance. There may also be some solo jazz, as well as musicality, and perhaps some mystery classes.
Friday – evening social dance
Saturday - workshop classes late morning to late afternoon; evening social dance
Sunday – workshop classes late morning to late afternoon; evening potluck windup
Full schedule will be released closer to the date.
Prices to be announced. Full weekend passes include all lessons and both dances. Registration will open here in August at www.lindyintheloops.com!
This workshop will take place at Akimbo Dance Studios and Desert Gardens Community Centre (only 1 block apart on Seymour Street).

Everyone is welcome, no previous dance experience or partner required! This weekend is perfect for beginners and those who have been swing dancing for less than a year! There are two tracks:
Our beginner track is for people from the absolute beginner, to the occasional social dancer, to someone who has finished our Beginner lesson series but isn’t quite ready to try Intermediate yet. Our instructors will focus on the basics, and get you to be a proficient Lindy Hopper in no time!
Our intermediate track is for those who have completed our Beginner lesson package or higher, and are ready to advance their dance. If you haven’t completed our series but you feel comfortable with moves like swing-outs and circles and switching between 6-count, 8-count and Charleston rhythms this track is also for you! Our instructors will be solidifying the fundamentals, and giving you new material to try out on the dance floor! Be prepared to have fun, and swing out a lot!
Hosting is available for out-of-town dancers! There will be an option on the registration to help us match you with a suitable host.
